Barcelona Currency

Currency in Spain is the euro (€), official currency of all the countries in the European Community.. It has coins and bills of different value:

Coins: 1 & 2 €; 50 cents, 20 cents, 10 cents, 5 cents, 2 cents, 1 cents.

Bills: 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 euros.

Barcelona exchange

The official currency Exchange is done in the ‘Caixes’ (Cashiers) (mondays to fridays, from 8,30 am to 2 pm, thursdays from 4.30 pm to 7.45 pm., except from June to September) in all Banks and Savings Institutions (mondays to fridays from 9 am to 2 pm; winter saturdays from 8.30 am to 1 pm; summer saturdays closed). You can also exchange currency in the main hotels and camping sites, at exchange offices, travel and apartment rental agencies. Other alternative, with ampler timetables, are train stations and Nord bus station.
