The Hostal Boquería Barcelona is a large and comfortable two star hostel provided with 20 well furnished bedrooms in a new and well mantained building. It was built in 2002 and remodelled in 2006. It is located in the main central area of Barcelona, where most of the historical, architectonical and touristic attractions are found. Near the hostel some underground lines, different bus stops and RENFE Railway Station are available, since the hostel is located only 5 minutes walk from Plaça Catalunya. When you leave the hostel, you get to Las Ramblas, one of the most crowded and well known streets of Barcelona. The market ”Mercado de la Boquería”- awarded in 2006 the prize as best market in the world- stands out just in front of the hostel. Walking along the Ramblas, surrounded by flowers and living statues you get to the great “Teatro del Liceu” and walking down some more meters you reach the “Barrio Gótico” (Gothic quarter), the imposing Cathedral and the “Ayuntamiento” (City Town Hall). You can here find cafés , restaurants, tapas bars, the best Chocolate stores in Barcelona as well as some curious spots like el “Museo de Cera” (Wax Museum) and el “Museo de la Erótica” (Eroticism Museum). When you get to the harbour the Monument to Colón stands out facing the entertainment and leisure area, the Maremagnum and the Mediterranean Sea. This pleasant tour to the beach is only 15 minutes walk from the hostel.
