
Transportation in Buenos Aires
Ezeiza International Airport Ministro Pistarini is about 45 minutes far from the city by highway. In the Airport you can take a taxi, a remise (private cars working only on request), transfers or "colectivos " (buses) 24 hours a day. On the harbour, by the Río de la Plata, you can get ferry connections to Montevideo, the capital city of Uruguay, to Colonia or to some other Argentine cities. Public transport services include 6 underground lines (subterráneos) and a great number of colectivos (buses) identified by numbers and colour combinations, connecting with places in the city or within the Metropolitan area.
Tango is a cultural expression of Buenos Aires culture recently declared World Intangible Heritage (UNESCO). You can "live" tango in the "milongas", "tanguerías", theatre shows or simply street shows . The gastronomic treasures are empanadas, asado, locro, alfajores and dulce de leche and football is the passion of crowds, 8 of the 20 1st division (first league) football teams are in Buenso Aires.
Buenos Aires, declared "The city of design" by UNESCO, has an intense cultural life all year long with constant theatre plays premieres in the 3 theatre circuits: official, commercial and independent. More than 100 museums offer a wide range of attractions: international and national Art, History, Football, shoe museums, puppets, clothes. There are also exhibition halls, libraries, public spaces and art galleries. In Buenos Aires, the annual average temperature is 18ºC; in spite of the climate changes, seasons differ one form the other. The coldest period is in July/August; in Summer, hot weather and humidity raise the thermal sensation. Autumn and Spring are the most rainy seasons.
