Climate in Madrid
The climate of Madrid, continental mediterranean, is influenced by urban conditions. Resulting from the distance to the sea and the height (about 650m SNM), Madrid has an ample thermal range, that can go from temperatures of 0º C or less in winter, up to 40º C in summer time. This daily difference is more important in the outer areas, but less in the centre of the city. Annual rains are variable, about 400mm, with very little rain in the summer, from June to September, being the rainy months April, May, November and December.
Time Zone of Madrid
In Madrid, like in all of the Iberian Peninsula, the Greenwich Meridian time zone applies, (GTM), adding an hour in winter or two in summer. The exception being the Canaries Islands, where also applies the Greenwich meridian, but adding an hour during the summer, having an hour less than the one applicable to the peninsula and the Balearic Islands. Have in mind this difference if you are planning an escapade from Madrid to these destinations.
